Castle Rock

Rising 195.8 feet above wat er level, Castle Rock was the an cient lookout of the Ojibwa In dians. Your reward for climb ing to the top is the impressive view looking out over the region’s forests and waters. North on Business Loop I-75, exit 348.


Heath M. Robinson Memorial Cut River Bridge

This scenic overlook has one of the most breathtaking views in the Upper Peninsula. From the bridge you can look out to Lake Michigan, see the beauty of a tree-lined gorge and its cutting river that empties into the lake. Head below the bridge and venture through the wilderness on marked nature trails, do some fishing, and enjoy a picnic at the water’s edge. US-2, 25 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge.

Deer Ranch

Known as the oldest live whitetail exhibit in North America. Featuring dozens of native Michigan Whitetail Deer and fawns, which you can photograph and feed, all in a natural setting. Gift shop features many unique items. (906) 643-7760. 1540 US-2, 4.6 miles west from I-75.


Disc Golf

The disc golf course at Silver Mountain Ski Area lets you try your hand at frisbee while traversing through the woods. This course offers a wide variety of terrain and is good for the beginner or the advanced player. It is located near Lake Michigan, so wind is almost always a factor. On Cheeseman Road, 6.7 miles west on US-2.


GarLyn Zoological Park

See live cougars, wolves, black bears, river otters, bobcats, camels, wallabies, deer and more. Enjoy a leisurely walk in a parklike setting, while the children feed the animals. Fun for the whole family. (906) 477-1085. 37 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge on US-2.



The perfect vacation getaway. St. Ignace Golf and Country Club features a 9-hole golf course overlooking the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge. This course is a par 36, featuring three par 5s, three par 4s, and three par 3s. Course offers spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge. Open to the public. Huron Boardwalk

Stretching nearly a mile along the downtown St. Ignace waterfront, the boardwalk connects parks, mu seums, restaurants, unique shops, Mackinac Island ferry docks, and the city ma rina. Open-air ex hibits interpret the history, people, and industries of the Straits of Mackinac as you stroll along the picturesque prom enade.
